embeddedSPARK 2010 SUMMER Challenge
The embeddedSPARK SUMMER Challenge is launching for the first time this year! The challenge unfolds over the summer, starts when the original embeddedSPARK Challenge ends, and concludes with the finalists presenting live on stage at ESC Boston.
The Summer Challenge is based on Windows Embedded Standards, whereas the Original embeddedSPARK Challenge (now renamed to embeddedSPARK WINTER Challenge) is based on Windows Embedded CE.
The theme for the embeddedSPARK 2010 SUMMER Challenge is "Media Explosion"
Create an embedded project that approaches media in an new and innovative way and enter to win $15,000!
We know you've got great ideas – and we want to see them in action. So go to your quiet place, think big and enter the embeddedSPARK 2010 SUMMER Challenge.

Submit a 1-3-page paper that outlines an embedded project that approaches media in a new and innovative way. Be creative, have fun but remember this is an embedded challenge!
Deadline: June 15, 2010 at 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time (GMT -8)
On June 22, 2010, we’ll announce the (up to) 75 participants who will advance to round two.
It’s time to put your skills to the test. All 75 round one winners will receive a free embeddedSPARK Kit, based on an embeddedSPARK platform device. Build a working prototype of your idea and submit a 4-8-page paper that describes your solution. You’ll also need to create a 3-minute video that summarizes your project.
Deadline: August 31, 2010 at 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time (GMT -8)
On September 7, 2010, we will reveal the top 3 finalists. Each of the 3 finalists will receive a flight to ESC Boston, where they will demonstrate their project live during the Microsoft Industry Address on September 21, 2010.
The 1st prize winner will be announced at the event, and will receive a cash prize of $15,000. Second prize winner will receive a cash prize of $5,000. Third prize winner will receive a cash prize of $1,000.
